Every wedding has a story and this one is especially dear to our hearts. Suzanne and Jordan are perfect for one another. They're spontaneous, adventurous, athletic, gorgeous, and just fun to be around. It wasn't all that surprising when they decided to plan a destination wedding. True to their spirits, they wanted to get married in a place that they hadn't been before. So, in exciting fashion, they threw a dart at a map. That little dart led them to Faith Chapel, a historic landmark off the Georgia coast.
The planning started: the details, the dress, the desserts, the flowers. Family and friends prepared their travel itineraries and the wedding was already shaping up to perfect. The only thing missing from Suzanne and Jordan's big day would be the presence of her father, who she lost over nine years ago. This is where the story gets better.
A few weeks before the wedding, while looking for old photos of Suzanne's dad, her mom found a box and started sorting through its contents. In that box, there was the photo that you see Suzanne and Jordan holding here. Suzanne had never seen the photo before, but it was sent to them (who knows how long ago) by a family friend and it had survived multiple moves and travels.
The photo is of her dad and it was taken in 1990. He's walking up to Faith Chapel, that historic landmark off the Georgia coast. The very same chapel that Suzanne and Jordan picked with the help of the dart. Happy hearts and (happy) tearful eyes watched Suzanne and Jordan say "I do" and we have no doubts that someone else was watching too. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Leach. We were honored to witness such a special moment in your lives.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner. - Henry Scott-Holland
